Mom and three boys

For Mother's Day, Dave made me a corsage out of the Calla Lilies that were broken in the heavy rains we had last week. Very pretty.

Here we have Detective Pete inspecting his hand.

And here we have Charlie showing off his nice big boy pants.

Pete man

He's a soul searcher.

And laughing!

Heavy rains

Thursday we had some pretty heavy rains roll in and just dump on us. I got a little bit on video, however, it wasn't the worst of it. I was worried about my garden and newly planted flower seedlings. We'll see if they survive. But the garden seems to be fine. You can watch as the house across the street disappears as the rain gets heavier and heavier.

Being in a construction zone, the rain blasts just filled the streets with rivers of mud.

The winds even carried a big green garbage container into our back yard.

Unfortunately, my Callas were flattened. So they've become our Mother's Day flowers. I think I may make my own corsage to wear on Sunday.

Hiking with the Scouts

And who says guys can't multitask? My sweet husband took our two boys and some Boy Scouts for an orienteering hike. Every time he stopped walking, Pete, (in the front carrier) would wake up and start fussing. So he had to rock back and forth while trying to explain how to read a map and use a compass. It was sweet.

I know what some of you are thinking, "Why did she make him carry BOTH kids?" Actually, Dave is used to carrying heavier packs on his backpacking trips and actually looks for opportunities to "train". I just carried my camel back, (actually, its a camel hip) and took the pictures. It was nice.
