Butterflies, fruit pizza and the circus

Preschool has been such a success! I just wish I took more pictures. Tomorrow we have our last day party. A few weeks ago I taught the themes butterflies and insects. We ordered some Painted-Lady Butterfly larvae (caterpillars) and we watched them form chrysalids and then hatch into butterflies. We kept them for a few days and then let them go outside. They had such a great time!! I think I was the most fascinated with the whole process. It is such a mysterious process how they form.

At the end of the day the kids knew all the stages of a butterfly (egg, caterpillar, pupa, and butterfly). They acted out all the stages and then flew away with their tissue paper wings!

I had such a great Mother's Day. Breakfast in bed (stuffed french toast yum!), Gilmore Girls (seasons 1 & 2), a great dinner of shrimp and artichokes and my requested dessert....Fruit Pizza!

And I, yes me, am the lucky mother of these little guys.

On to the last portion of this post, our trip to the circus. Every year the Cole Bro. Circus comes into town. We've posted the typical circus pictures before: the elephants, the tigers, the tight ropers, and even the guy being shot out of the cannon.

But this year, I was super impressed by this woman who stood on one finger balancing on a little ball!

Hand over heart, standing for the pledge.

Raarrrrrrrrr!

Pete is missing from the face paint picture, the standing in front of the elephant picture, and the loopy clown picture because all of these things are just too scary for him right now.

My mom does the butterfly thing every year and when I lived at home I would get SO excited. I LOVED watching the whole process.

And you've got some buff dudes on your hands. They'll be so great at taking care of their little sis.
