A couple things that we wished we would have brought:
-a good lighter for our propane stove
-charged camera batteries
I got about 4 pictures before my camera died. Here they are:
Here, Pete is venturing into the next camp site. He thought he was hot stuff, walking around in his hiking boots.
And that is where my camera died. We did buy a disposable camera and I will have to jump in a time machine to go back 10 years (or more) to figure out how to get it developed. Do places still develop film??
Pete woke up with the birds Saturday morning and was allowed to run around inside the tent until the rest of us came to. Bad idea. He managed to pull out a whole container of wipes...one...by...one. Well, wipes are expensive and I wouldn't just have them all stuffed back in the box. So I brushed them all off and folded them...one...by...one, just so.
Saturday morning we packed up camp and headed for Altoona, PA to visit some friends from Dave's mission. Inclement weather happened upon us so they graciously put us up for the night. Northern Maryland and Pennsylvania (where we were) is absolutely beautiful country. Rolling hill, deep green, lots of agriculture, quaint country homes.
On our way home on Sunday, Charlie's bladder maxed-out 4 times in one hour. Must have drunk a lot for breakfast or something because we had pull over and stop on the side of the highway 4 times!! He would start squirming in his car seat and we would say "AGAIN!!??"
We stopped at Fort Fredrick State Park for lunch. Fort Fredrick was originally built in 1756 to be used in the French and Indian War. Pretty neat place.
All in all, it was a great weekend and successful camping trip...hopefully one of many.

Oh my gosh this looks like so much fun! You just have to camp in nontraditional camping seasons there.
That looks like a lot of fun...and I'm not even that fond of camping! What a pretty area.
I think we ought to plan a big 'ol camping trip. It would be a ton of fun. Subec.
We love camping. It's so good for us all to get out and rough it.
