Finally, a snow day!

"Its snowing!" Our first time to pull out the snow pants and stomp around in the snow. It may seem unbelievable to some of you because a lot of you live in snowy climates. We had a great time with some of the other neighbor kids out in the street.

Charlie has really caught on to the "say cheese" thing.


We love the panda bear hat (Thanks Tana!) but its still a little big and gets in the eyes.

Update: Charlie had his two-year doctor appointment this morning. We actually DID brave the roads, though, thinking back that maybe have been a little crazy. We were fine. I guess I still have the mentality of the Rocky Mountainers, its snowing but life goes on pretty much as normal, maybe a little slower. But anyway, though Charlie was born at 7 lbs. 9 oz., an average weight, he has consistently stayed under the 5th percentile for height and weight. UNTIL NOW!! He has jumped up to the 10th percentile in weight and we are thrilled. Way to be a big kid, bud!

The unbelievable has happened...my little guy has turned 2-years-old. Everyday in my prayers, I'm so thankful that Charlie came to our family. He is such a fun little guy and we have such a good time with him. The first year went by very slowly and the second year happened in an instant! I CAN believe that we are having another baby, but I CAN'T believe that Charlie is two. Here's to you, Charlie! May your coming years be full of adventure and as happy as your first two.

Here, Charlie is sporting his Thomas the Train utility belt, his fun red hat that he frequently plays in and a bowl in which he is mixing cookies with a foot massager.

Trendy baby stuff

I went to a Baby Expo a while back and I won these "Babylegs" in a drawing. Charlie wore them for a day. They are neat because you can use them for all sorts of reasons: potty training (you don't have to keep taking pants off and putting them back on), the obvious reason of keeping baby legs warm...


Also, for those of you who "wear" your baby, the pants on the baby sometimes get hiked up the leg, leaving the legs partially bare. There is an actual name for this, but I can't remember at the moment. Babylegs come in handy for this reason as well. Speaking of baby wearing...

I got this Moby Wrap for the new baby. It is claimed as the most comfortable carrier out there. I guess we'll see about that! Here Dave is modeling with Charlie. He thought it was pretty fun. It is comfortable for most people from newborn up to 35 lbs. You can nurse in it and everything. I'm excited to use it.

Bear Hugs

This Christmas gift from Grandma has a long story. UPS failed to deliver it to our new address so it was returned to the sender and when Grandma tried to have them resend it they told her they didn't have any more to send! By some miracle, however, this showed up at our door just the other day. Here are the pictures I promised:

Yellow Submarine

First, let me start my little story with an explanation of why I ran to grab the camera. My mom teaches middle school and frequently laments over her middle schoolers' lack of education in the finer arts, i.e. The Beatles.
On New Year's Day, I escaped into the bathroom for a shower, locking the door behind me. Dave said he was going to put the crib together in the new baby's room. I keep a CD player in Charlie's room, which is next door to the new baby's room. He music collection includes Beatles, James Taylor, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Fantasia 2000, and other fun stuff. Today he was listening to the Beatles. When I came out of the shower, I had to run downstairs in my skivies to grab the camera only capture what I know would bring my mom to tears. Turn it up, watch and listen:
