Not sure if Charlie really "got" this game but after standing in line watching all the other kids try to eat their donuts without hands, Charlie just reached up and grabbed the donut and put it in his mouth. Just like that.

Charlie Chaplin
This was definitely something I was not prepared for. No one told me that my heart would break every time my child got hurt. A fall in the church parking, a mouth full of blood, and a piercing scowl...enough to stop my world. Maybe I've been lucky so far, and I hope I'm able to handle myself if and when something worse happens.

A day at the farm
Southern Maryland is great because it is country enough for people to have these working farms where they offer all sorts of fun things to do. A whole store full of barrels and barrels of fresh apples, pies, pumpkin donuts, animals, corn maze, tractor rides! We had a great day! It was like kid heaven.

Wakame
For dinner we had Japanese food. I was craving "natto" (fermented soy beans) that I used to eat in Japan. Both Dave and Charlie tried it and liked it well enough, even though a lot of Japanese people don't like it. We also had some miso soup. Charlie like the little pieces of tofu and especially liked the "wakame" or seaweed.
Can't get enough of these...
