This is my last post of the day, I promise. There has just been so many fun things going on in our home lately. Charlie is pulling out all sorts of tricks and we are fully entertained!

A little bit o' snow
A little bit of snow causes much commotion here in Maryland. Even if there is rumor that it will be heading our way...welp, we had better tuck in for the night, cancel all our plans. 
Its 6:00 in the evening, a few flakes are flying, and we've gotten word that all activities at the church are canceled. 
I check my e-mail, fearing the worst. Yep, I can't believe it. Even my ADULT TAP class is canceled because policy is: if school activities are canceled, there is no tap class. It doesn't matter if we have a performance tomorrow night that will need to be canceled because we can't practice tonight. Boooooo!
But there is always a silver lining...Readin' in the skivies

Oh, he had to stop to take a snack break.
"Fishes!" Today in Walmart we wheeled past the pet section with the fish. I kept signing "fish" (pretend your hand is swimming like a fish). As we walked away, he started waving his hand back and forth, signing "fish". It wasn't until we hit the grocery section that he stopped signing.He is picking up more and more baby signs. Here's a story: Last week we were house sitting for a family in a really big house. They have a gas burning fire and we knew it was going to be a source of conflict keeping Charlie away from the "pretty" flames. We have tried to teach him the sign for "hot" while we blow on food, cook on the stove, etc. Every time he looked at the fireplace he would sign "hot". Then today we were over at a neighbor's house for a play date who also had a fireplace. My friend tried to blockade him from climbing up the step to the fireplace by putting up couch pillows. I knew that would not deter him and we started a struggle to keep him away from the fireplace. I thought if I signed "hot" he might remember from before. He immediately signed "hot" back and completely lost interest in climbing the pillows up to the fireplace and went off to play with something else! It was really neat and fun to communicate with him like that.

Hours of entertainment
Yesterday Charlie was helping me unload the dishwasher. He got attached to two of his spoons and I didn't have the heart to take them away. All day yesterday and today he has carried these spoons around in his hands (they have to be in the same hand), using them as drumsticks, etc. Who needs expensive, noise making toys?! A baby spoon can provide more entertainment than any toy he's been able to get his hands on.

CRAFTY!
Being the good citizens that we are, Dave and I decided to make these fun rose cupcakes to donate to our local Cub Scout cake auction. I got the idea from Family Fun.
"What is it?" you ask? Fruit-by-the-foot, strawberry for the petals and color for the leaves. They sold for $27!
Play group
These are some fun guys from a play group we set up recently. Charlie just idolizes these guys and follows them around everywhere. You may recognize them from the birthday party.
