Grand Opening!

On Columbus Day (observed) we had an official ribbon cutting ceremony deck party. It was a lot of fun. It also was a combined birthday party for Shelly with a Halloween slant. Dave smoked some brisket and we had lots of friends over. Good times.

A day at the farm

Southern Maryland is great because it is country enough for people to have these working farms where they offer all sorts of fun things to do. A whole store full of barrels and barrels of fresh apples, pies, pumpkin donuts, animals, corn maze, tractor rides! We had a great day! It was like kid heaven.

Wakame

For dinner we had Japanese food. I was craving "natto" (fermented soy beans) that I used to eat in Japan. Both Dave and Charlie tried it and liked it well enough, even though a lot of Japanese people don't like it. We also had some miso soup. Charlie like the little pieces of tofu and especially liked the "wakame" or seaweed.

Can't get enough of these...

Charlie is getting really good at eating with a spoon and fork. The yogurt especially. But getting that last little bit can be difficult...
