Out with the old...in with the new

We finally did it. We traded in the old, trusty truck that has been in Dave's family for 12 years. Thanks for all the good times, old buddy.

And we got this!
An '05 Toyota Matrix (only ours is dark gray with some sparkle). This was a better picture than I could have taken. It fits our family nicely.

Ashes, ashes...

Face Painting

Today we went to Dave's work picnic party. There was a clown, animal balloons, door prizes, and good food. The clown was a big guy and kind of boisterous. Charlie wasn't too sure of him and when he wanted to paint Charlie's hand he started crying. He was able to finish Charlie's paint on his hand, nonetheless and I got a flower on my cheek. Charlie wasn't too sure about this clown painting his mom's face either. Way past nap time (thus the pacifier) didn't help either, but I explained it was like a sticker, which he loves! By the end of the day, Charlie was saying "purple".

A turtle in our midst

A turtle came to visit our street. Dave came crashing home in his truck and up the stairs. "I'm going to go catch a turtle! Who's with me?" Charlie is always up for an outdoor adventure. It was a very pretty turtle with lots of bright orange markings. He seemed to have an agenda and was headed somewhere. We only moved him once and Charlie did eventually stop running from it and mustered up the courage to touch its back.

High heels

I had to split this clip into 2 because it was too long for my computer to download from my camera (under 2 min, whoa!) Dave thinks that little bit at the end is especially funny.

Spray Park II

Charlie was a bit more cautious this time but he still had fun. He spent a lot of time running around the perimeter. He did get frustrated when the water shoots would shut off when he was trying to fill up a cup! Here are a couple of vids for your enjoyment.

Spray Park

There has never in the life of Charlie Myers been such a place that has caused so much happiness...until we went to the spray park. It was joy beyond joy, squeal after joyful squeal. Oh, you'd better believe that we will be back...oh, we will be back.
